BATU SAPI:- The dilapidated wooden bridge linking a village to the
main Jalan Cecily has been recently upgraded to ensure the safety of the more
than 50 residents.
The nearly 42 foot long old bridge was replaced with a
concrete structure after the concerns of those living in the area was brought
to the attention of Batu Sapi Member of Parliament Datuk Linda Tsen Thau Lin.
The upgrading work was carried out utilizing allocation
from the Batu Sapi MP Fund when residents raised the matter with Linda during
one of her “turun padang” visits.
Linda accompanied by her officers including Head Liaison
Officer Kong Nyuk Thou inspected the structure and met with residents following
the completion of the project.
A representative of the villagers said the deteriorating condition
had rendered the wooden bridge unsafe for their vehicles to pass through.
He thanked Linda for responding promptly to allay their
fear for their safety when crossing the dilapidated wooden bridge.
