SANDAKAN: Batu Sapi Member
of Parliament Datuk Linda Tsen Thau Lin presented cash assistance to a
housewife to help lessen the burden of her family after their house at Kampung
Lupak Meluas Laut in Batu Sapi collapsed into the sea.
Thieves had apparently
stolen supporting beams underneath the stilt house causing it to collapse.
Fortunately there were no injuries reported to the occupants.
Linda and her aides visited
Lina Acop who lives in the house with her three children when she was informed
of the incident. Her husband was not home when the house collapsed at 5pm on
Nov 1.
Lina and her family have
been staying in the house built under the Government’s Housing for the Poor Programme
(PPRT), for the past three years.
According to Linda, she had
instructed her aide Kong Nyuk Thou to help the family refer the case to
Sandakan Municipal Council for the next course of action.
Also present was Kong, who
is the Head Liaison Officer of the Batu Sapi MP Office.
