SANDAKAN:  The Sandakan District Tennis Association (SDTA) has finalized its team for the 30^th Sabah Inter-Affiliate Tennis Tournament to be held here from May 28 to 30.

SDTA president Fernando D. Rulloda who announced the team line-up yesterday said it consisted of players selected from the just concluded Sandakan Closed Tennis Tournament.

Fernando said the guest of honour for the 30^th Sabah Inter-Affiliate Tennis Tournament  welcoming dinner and prize presentation on May 28 and 30 respectively is Karamunting State Assemblyman Charles O. Pang.

The Sandakan team manager is Christopher Lim, assistant team manager Paul Wong and the players are:

Junior Boys– Hiew Kee Jun (captain), Mark Rueben, Mohd Azizan Baharudin, Ibnudanish Faiq Ibnuhaili, Ngui Larm, Aaron Tsia Junn Len and Johnaton Chan.

Men – Donald Lee (captain), Adrian Tan, Ahmad Redzuan Abu Bakar, Suhailie Aliuddin, Iruwan Amboragang, Silvester Lawai, Johannes Belili, Jonathan Lee, Gary Leong, Rozhan Md Daud, Desmond Chang and Abdul Halim.

Veteran Men – Simon Wong (captain), Johnson Koh, George Soiking, Peter Poon, Rabahim Masdik, Joseph Wong and Chin Min Boak.

Ladies – Chua Sing Ying (captain), Marian Chua, Jariah Herman, Wong Lay See, Joanna Wong Sau Lin, Tina Lee and Joanna Thung.

Meanwhile, Fernando also disclosed the results of the Sandakan Closed Tennis Tournament which was played at the SDTA clubhouse courts over two weekends from May 6 with the prize presentation on May 21:

Men’s Single- Champion: Ahmad Redzuan Abu Bakar , 1^st runner-up :Hiew Kee Jun, semi-finalists : Jonathan Wong and Harish John Shailendra Sunil Manoharan

Men’s Doubles- Champion: Ahmad Redzuan Abu Bakar/ Nik Ahmad Zharfan Nik Rahimee, 1^st runner-up: Donald Lee/ Gary Leong, semi-finalists: Larm Ngui/ Aaron Tsia Junn Len, Iruwan Amboragang/ Suhailie Aliuddin.

Veteran’s Single (Round Robin)- Champion: Leo Corre, 1^st runner-up: Joseph Wong,2^nd runner-up: Christopher Lim

Veteran’s Doubles- Champion: Johnson Koh Yong Siang/Chin Min Boak, 1^st runner-up: George Soiking/ Leo Corre, semi-finalists: Amir Bukhari/Nik Rahimee, Joseph Wong/ Herman Abdullah

Ladies’ Doubles (Round Robin)- Champion: Marian Chua/ Chua Sing Ying, 1^st runner-up: Wong Lay See/ Jariah Herman, semi-finalists: Susan Ng/ Janet C. Reoyan, Jeannie/ Joanna Thung.
